Tam Duong Easy Trekking 2 Days
During this 2-day trip, visit tribal villages inhabited by Vietnam’s ethnic minorities and make friends with the Black H’mong, Dzay, Black Thai, and Lao peoples. Pass through scenery so beautiful it will leave you breathless, and visit local sights, like the Silver Waterfall, Heaven’s Gate, and Fanispan, an imposing mountain peak.
On the first night, we’ll take you from your hotel to the train station at Hanoi. Here, you’ll spend the night in a comfortable cabin to Lao Cai. On Day 1, visit tribal villages, pass through buffalo paths, and breathtaking scenery once you’ve left Sapa. And on Day 2, the group will visit many more ethnic minorities in Vietnam’s small indigeous villages, such as the Dzao, the Lao, and the Lu. You will also visit iconic landmarks like the Silver Waterfall and Heaven’s gate. A train will bring you back to Hanoi, where you must flag a taxi back to your own hotel.
Night 1 - Tuesday: Hanoi - Lao Cai
At your hotel, you will be picked up via a travel car from Viet Bamboo. The driver will transfer you to Hanoi’s train station, where the tour group catches a night-time train to Lao Cai. Once on the train, you can sleep in a soft-sleeper cabin, which has air-conditioning. Thus, you will be spending the night on the train.

Day 1 - Wednesday: Sapa - Lao Chai - Ta Van - Sapa (B, L)
Early in the morning, the group will meet a tour guide at Lao Cai’s train station. For an hour, a driver takes you up through the hills that lead to Sapa, where you can check into the hotel. Next, the group will trek down trails, buffalo paths, and paths that pass through Lao Chai and Ta Van, two tribal villages, where the Black H’mong and the Dzay ethnic minorities live, respectively. This trek passes through scenery so wonderful it will leave you breathless, and the villagers are incredibly friendly. The scenery includes a valley whose walls are covered with not only scattered villages, but also multi-layered terraces fields where rice grows. Once you leave the village, spend the night in the hotel. You’ll spend the night at the hotel. Breakfast and lunch are included.
Highlights: Move through the tribal villages of Ta Van and Lao Chai, where you can meet and interact with the local minorities.
Day 2 - Thursday: Tam Duong Market (B, L)
Enjoy an early breakfast, then take a car ride at 7 AM so that you can visit the cultural markets belonging to many minority tribes—tribes like the Lao, Tien Dzao, Lao, Black Dzao, Red H’mong, Lu, Black Thai, and Dzay. In the afternoon, the group visits the village of Ban Ho, where people of Lu and Thai ethnic origins reside. During this trip, you can take photographs of many local sights, such as Heaven’s Gate, Silver Waterfall, the Tram Ton Pass, and the mountain peak of Fanispan. Next, the group heads over to the train station at Lao Cai, where a tour guide will accompany you onto the train. You’ll spend the night on the train. Breakfast and lunch are included.

Day 3 - Friday: Hanoi - Arrival
Return to the station in Hanoi in the early morning. This is where your journey with us ends: the next step is to take a taxi, by yourself, to go your hotel.
